After watching the French debate, it is amazng how reporters interpret the debate. Certainly different from our group of diverse ethnicity, educated individuals!

too bad this isn’t a real debate, but a 4 to 1 attack with no actual views of each candidate. Why not just call it “ask Harper to justify his policies. This is more like the french debate last night. A frustrating waste of time.

I am glad to see that two other people have something to say about the Canadian debate. I thought that the way the other parties pounced on him was a long time coming. We need a responsible government, and people need to be responsible for our country and its people. Pay attention to what’s going on in this country, be involved. And vote; help to shape our society.

Defending prime mininisters are always outnumbered. I watched the debate in both languages. It appears this time around Quebequois are more tolerant of bad french than other Canadians are of bad english. Harper has done a good job of conceiling the conservative platform while convincing those who do not care to do the research for themselves that carbon tax is bad for the economy. No question, Harper wins. Negative personal attachs appear to be in vogue.

Just some quick ideas for debate am I right or wrong?
1.The recession is do to the high price of oil- The world transportation of commerce runs on oil.
2. Income tax is only there to keep the people poor. If you think about it by taking 20 to 30% out of the economy before it can create demand or savings is destructive.
3. The fairest tax is a consumption tax. The wealthiest spend the most so they pay the most tax. The poor spend less so they pay less.
4.The only way out of the market and bank troubles that will work is huge tax cuts. I say that because the masses could pay their mortgages and save money in banks. The banks lend money to pay interest on savings. If you don’t lose a big piece of your income to tax you can by stuff (thus paying tax). Buying stuff creates demand and demand creates jobs.
Well am I right or not?

Garth Turner wrote on his blog at http://www.garth.ca that campaigns of the future will succeed if they use the internet with online promotion and interactive communications.
In response, E-campaigns are powerful but not in and of itself alone. To use multimedia platforms is beneficial and to use multimedia platforms with and in tandem with tradtional media such as radio, tv, newspapers, magazine, signage, main-streeting, door-knocking, debates and events is yet more powerful.
